A quick timeline - Salvestrols

  • Discovery of CYP-1B1 Early 1990s

    Professor Dan Burke's research group at De Montfort University, Leicester (UK) discovered the enzyme CYP1B1 — a protein found almost exclusively in cancer cells and absent from healthy tissue.

  • Around the year 2000

    Professor Gerry Potter (Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, also at De Montfort University) discovered that certain plant-based phytochemicals are metabolised specifically by CYP1B1

  • 2005

    The "Salvestrol Concept" was formally developed and articulated. This milestone marked the transition from laboratory discovery to a recognised nutritional concept, paving the way for Salvestrols to be developed into the dietary supplements available today.

Naturally Elicited, Specifically Extracted Molecules

Stage one of this is the natural elicitation of active phyto molecules, These are the result of a natural mechanism within the plant (natural elicitation), which allows the plant to respond to environmental circumstances by producing elicited secondary plant metabolites.

Stage two is to “ SPECIFICALLY EXTRACT” the molecules of interest in a non-damaging, natural way. To this end we delpoy advanced technology (Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry or LC-MS) to identify and then extract these naturally elicited molecules that form the basis of all of our unique products.
